Working on finishing up a number of requested pieces and starting on a commission. Time to pull out the big table so I can spread out. The first layer is always random pieces of vintage and foreign text. For me it always gives a good foundation and adds to the depth of the background layering and I love the look of old and foreign text. Some of it is art in itself.
I'm working on finishing up a couple of requested projects and have pulled out an art journal that I work in now and then to add some new stuff to it. Still trying to figure out this whole art journaling thing.
Wow! Looks like beautiful projects in the works!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful art in your art journal. I haven't figured it out, but looks like you have! :) Thanks for the peek. #92
ReplyDeleteOh Amy, I'm quite fond of old book pages too! I love how you're starting out with your words. I'm still figuring out art journaling too. I a bit inconsistent on how and when I work in the several I have started. Wish we were close enough to play more often. Hugs! Helen (WOYWW #85)
ReplyDeleteme too, Helen! i wish i had gotten to spend more time with you in Phoenix!
DeleteHi Amy..happy WOYWW and I see you're tearing up books...I find that hard to do and have actually just this week torn out my first page...Love to see your finished projects, Cheers and have a great week Robyn#18
ReplyDeletehey Robyn! most of the pages im using on this project were sent to me but I have a collection of foreign language books that i've gotten from library sales and used books store discount bins. usually they are pretty worn out and in sad shape so i dont feel too bad about giving the pages new life in my art projects. i'm always looking for some poor sad tome that needs a rebirth as something new! its a bit of an obsession. ;)
DeleteBook pages are the biz for me at the moment, and shiny magazine print! I really like the mdf, such a nice font.
ReplyDeleteI love using book text in my artwork. Looking forward to seeing the finished project. Your journal pages look great! Thank you for popping by and for your lovely comments.
ReplyDeleteLove working with old book pages! Enjoyed peeking at your art journal, beautiful pages. Hope to see more. Diane #58
ReplyDeleteCould have fooled me, girlie - I'd have said you've been journalling for ages! It's lovely, and I can't wait to see your finished goodies. Love, Chris # 19
ReplyDeletethanks! i usually can manage the art part...its marrying the journaling with it that gives me most of the trouble.
DeleteLove the lettering and the journalling. Have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x 48
