My first art demonstration video!!

I've wanted for a long time to be able to make videos like the ones I love watching on youtube.  To share techniques, teach others and eventually create online classes.  I built a set up for my camera and a space to work and did a little test video a few weeks ago.

Test Video

Its was so much fun and so ridiculously thrilling to see my work that way.  After finishing a few projects and a death in the family, I was finally able to work on my first full video.  I'm learning a lot of what to do and what not to do and hope that I can quickly reach the point where I can produce the quality videos that I'm aiming for.  I'm very pleased with what I've been able to do so far.

"Bloom"

I'm so excited to have reached this long time goal and I'm excited to see what's next!  Any feedback would be appreciated!  Enjoy!

  1. OMG! You did SO good! ...I like the music....and I like that you showed when you made a mistake. I think people need to see how to recover from what they might think of as a mistake. Can't wait to see more. :)

    1. Thanks so much! I know I have really appreciated seeing people make mistakes and move past them. I know I've learned so much more from that than from the flawless "everything turns out perfect" videos. The truth is, there is no such thing as a fatal mistake in art. You keep adding and adapting until you have something you love and if there really is no saving it...you can always gesso over it and start again. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  4. Love the video! I think it turned out perfectly. I learned a few things like...OMG why have I never thought of a paintbrush for spreading glue! And, a water brush with gesso and acrylics? Genius! Can't wait to watch more videos. :)

  5. Fabulous first video Amy. I also like seeing mistakes made and how one recovers from them. Your piece came out lovely. I love your color palette.
